The Savoy Flea (2621 W. Grand Ave., thesavoyflea.com), a vintage shop specializing in furniture and decor, is normally open by appointment only—but this Saturday, February 13, you can stop in for an open studio from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The shop has added some affordably priced Valentine’s Day gift items and will continue to do so daily. Check out the inventory online to see if anything catches your eye.

Maven Collection (mavencollection.com), a Chicago-based online marketplace, is offering 30 percent off rugs all month long. Handmade in Morocco with soft organic wool, these patterned rugs and runners were brought from the souks of Marrakech and can even be used as textile wall hangings. Use the code “SOUK 30” at checkout.

Idlewood Electric (114 Skokie Valley Rd., Highland Park, idlewoodelectric.com) is hosting a free event featuring five key panelists—an architect, a builder, an interior decorator, a lighting specialist, and a landscape architect—to help you embark on a new home project. Join them Wednesday, February 17 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. to educate yourself before you renovate. Light bites, wine, and fun raffle prizes will be provided. Register here for the event.
